A reflection back to the 1920s

So recently, I bought some vintage...antique...French "Fashion Magazine" from the 1923!  Thought I would share some of it with you.  I say Fashion Magazine in quotes because it was more like newspaper in quality.  The color that has been added to it seems to be hand painted or colored.  Not sure what the process was back then.
 My package from FRANCE arrives!

Interesting how children's styles are still very similar now.

Here is the ever popular this Winter Season...CAPE (third from left)

To the right is a lil girls dress that was from a knitting pattern as you can see a bit on the right.  I don't know about you...but I would put that on my lil one now!  So cute!  My next inspiration dress, although I will skip the knitting part since I have Carpal Tunnel in both hands.  :)
These styles I have seen in the stores now.  For example..the tie on the side shirt.  The one shown here is so cute!  Coats....similar to our trench coats and long wool coats now.  Notice the lady lounging in the chair in her silky robe.  Looks like something I have in my closet.  The question is...was that a fashion they wore in public??? Sexy.  The picture to the top right of that...I don't know about you, but I am very happy that high neck style is not popular now.  I hate things around my neck!
FUR!!!!  Lovely...luxurious!!  Now a days...we go for the faux...but still love it!  The dress she is wearing under the fur...large peek a boo hole.  I wonder...was that just skin under there showing?? Not sure if they layered back then.  And here we complain about risque styles now!  Do you notice the skirt lengths!  Not the best look for the calves.  We also see the ever popular girl in a tie which was popular in the 20s along with women voting in the USA and gaining more rights.  Interestingly...Women's Suffrage (women's right to vote or hold office) started in France in 1893!

Ladies...these French Woman we owe a lot to!! Also notice the dress with the tie around it, which         is popular to do now.

It is fun to look back and be inspired to move forward!
